The newsletter has been on an unplanned hiatus since last September, but I'm back with plenty of news for you. Read on...
There's still time to schedule a library instruction session for your class. If you don't want to bring your class to Langsdale, we can come to you. Please use the Instruction Request Form, and don't forget to tell us what your assignment is (term paper, final project, etc.)
Thomas Arendall-Salvetti is the new Instruction Coordinator; if you have any questions about scheduling, you can call Tom at 410-837-4275.
In addititon to scheduling classes and owrkshops, Tom is also spearheading our new Information Literacy Intitative. He is in the process of meeting with all the departments to come up with ways to integrate IL into existing instruction, and he is also looking for faculty who would be interested in joining the Information Literacy Team. The team will have student, faculty and librarian representation, and will work to create a new plan for IL. If you are interested in being part of this exciting venture, please contact me or Tom.
It's time for the second round of book orders. We lost some Technical Services staff last fall which slowed things down a bit, but we've made one new hire, and should have another soon.
You will have until Monday, February 6 to get in your requests; otherwise, I'll hold them until the last round of orders goes in sometime in late March. If you need materials for the summer, now is the time to get your requests in; there's still plenty of money to spend, but it's first come, first served. You can send requests through your department liaison, or you can contact me.
