Microwave Radio
High frequency form of radio communications
- Extremely short (micro) wavelength (1 cm to 1 m)
- Requires line-of-sight
Perform same functions as cables
- Often used for long distance, terrestrial transmissions (over 50 miles without repeaters)
- No wiring and digging required
- Requires large antennas (about 10 ft) and high towers
Posses similar properties as light
- Reflection, Refraction, and focusing
- Can be focused into narrow powerful beams for long distance
