802.11g Media Access Control
Almost the same media and error control protocols as .11b
- Similar packet layout, except
- Preambles and headers transmitted at slower speeds (up to a maximum of 11 Mbps)
- Payload transmitted at higher speeds (up to a max of 54 Mbps)
Data Transmission in the Physical Layer
- Same techniques in .11a and .11b
- Uses PSK, QPSK, and CCK to provide .11b rates
- Uses BPSK, QPSK, and QAM to provide .11a rates
