Professional Service

American Society for Information Science and Technology

I currently serve as Chair of the Program Committee of the New England regional chapter of ASIS&T (NEASIS&T), and have been active in the organization since 2008 when I served as liason to the Simmons student chapter of ASIS&T. I have been involved in coordinating a number of successful events, including Mobile Mania, which earned NEASIS&T the Chapter Event of the Year award for 2009; and the Library is Dead. Long Live the Library event, which attracted more 120 attendees. I am also the creator and primary voice of the chapter Twitter feed (@neasist), and organized a succesful series of book club events.

I serve ASIS&T on a national level in an outreach and communications role. Recognized for my successful use of Twitter at the chapter level, I was invited to develop a presence for the national organization (@asist_org). I act as an administrator for the association's blog Bits, where I am responsible for maintaining the integration between the Wordpress blog and Twitter feed. I have also had the opportunity to act as blog contributor, writing about my experience as a first time attendee to the 2009 Annual Meeting in Vancouver, British Columbia.
