Brian Blankinship teaches kayaking skills at SeaKayaking 102 (SK 102) on the shores of balmy Lake Anna, VA.
On Saturday, November 1, 2008, Brian Blankinship accepted the American Canoe Association's (ACA) J. Henry Rushton Award presented annually to an organization or other group for outstanding achievements in advancing paddlesport and the mission of the ACA. Brian received the award at the ACA annual meeting in Fredericksburg, VA, accepting for himself, Laura Butterbaugh, his long time partner in organizing the event, and the hundreds of instructors and students who have attended SeaKayaking 102 (an annual training event conceived and organized by Brian for the past 10 years) on the shores of balmy Lake Anna.
