Appl 644 Personnel Psychology
Two class Projects:
1. Job Analysis (Team Project)
2. Criteria for Performance Appraisal (Individual Project which requires SPSS data analysis)
Team members will choose a job which they will (1) analyze, and for which they will develop (2) a performance appraisal for, (3) an applicant selection procedure, and (4) a program for training and development. Each project will incorporate the relevant course material to ensure that it is completed in a manner consistent with expectations of a professional consultant.
Projects:
1. Job Analysis (Team Project - does NOT require
data analysis)
Assignment: each team
will
1. Choose a team
leader who will adopt a participatory leadership decision-making strategy
to accomplish the mission (conduct JA)
2. Identify a team
Facilitator who will keep the team on task and ensure timelines are met
3. Identify a job O*Net for
which to conduct a job analysis
4. Assign specific tasks to each team member
5. Assign JA Report writing tasks for sections of
the report (APA style) -all must play a role in writing
6. Assign an editor to ensure the finished project
is of professional quality
7. Identify a person who holds the job title to act
as an SME
a. Conduct an JA interview with the worker
8. Each team member will serve as an SME (having
become familiar with the O*Net job description)
9. Submit a final report to the instructor (that
would be me) in the SAKAI JA Report Assignment folder by the due date
10. Develop and present the findings in a PPT
Executive report to the class (about a five minute
presentation)
2. Performance Appraisal (requires SPSS data analysis)
Each student will be provided with a Performance
Appraisal SPSS data set to analyze. You will include the results and findings
in a PA Report to management.
