Tom Mitchell,  Ph.D.

                                        Biographical Information

I am an  Associate Professor of  Psychology in the Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences.  In 1980 I received my doctorate in social psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I also hold a master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the same institution.  My first university faculty appointment was at Louisiana Tech University from 1980 until 1984.  In 1984 I moved to Baltimore to accept a position on the faculty here at the University of Baltimore in the Yale Gordon College. For two summers ('94 -'95) I was a visiting professor at Montana State University where I taught  a course in Applied Psychology and helped establish a Master's program in Organizational Behavior for the Psychology Department. My primary work as a private consultant has been in the areas of  test validation, management development and management assessment.  My most recent consulting work has been as a Research Fellow at the Schaefer Center for Public Policy here at the University of Baltimore.
