Mini-project 2: Configuring DOS

INSS315 - Spring 1997

Each group should create autoexec.bat and config.sys instructions that allow a computer to booot either with the minimum files to use DOS and a mouse, or to load Windows. The default should be to load windows after 25 seconds. Each group is supposed to prepare a report regarding the work done. The client requires a background color that looks "nice." The report should contain the following items:

  1. Introduction: Explain how you can use autoxec.bat and config.sys in DOS to create multiboot options.

  2. Description: What did you do? List your autoexec.bat and config.sys and explain them.

  3. Conclusion: What other uses you see for the multiboot option? Give practical examples.

  4. Enter all your results in a file and e-mail it to me with the subject: 315m2. Be sure to include the group number and member names. The due date is April 8 (up to midnight).

That's it folks!
