Biographical Information
Dr.Lourdes White is Associate Professor of Accounting at the Merrick
School of Business, University of Baltimore.
She was previously a faculty member of the University of Southern California,
Los Angeles, California. She has a doctorate in business from Harvard University
with a specialization in Management Accounting. She also holds an M.Sc.
in Management with a major in Finance from the Federal University of Rio
de Janeiro, and a B.Sc. in Public Administration from Getulio Vargas Foundation.
Prior to her academic career, she worked for six years as a tax analyst
at the Controller's Office, City of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Research interests
Performance Measurement, Incentive Compensation, Budgeting.
Teaching areas
Managerial Accounting, Management Control Systems, Cost Accounting.
Dr.White is the winner of the Dean James Teaching Award for the years 1996
and 2000.
