Assignment 2: Create or update your home page

1. Your first task is to create a basic Web home page, as instructed in the tutorial Essential HTML, using the student template provided in the tutorial. Use your PC to create your home page using a word processor, Netscape Composer, or Homesite. Be sure that whenever you have an image in your page there is text equivalent information.

2. Your second task is to scan your picture at home, office or UB.

3. Your third task is to use Lview to edit and crop the image to a size you like, then save it with a name of your choice .gif, e.g. myname.gif.

4. Your fourth task is to modify your page to include the name of your photo file in the page (if you used the template, replace yourpict.gif with the name you gave) and date last modified.

5. Your fifth task is to add a background color or image to your page and create links to places you may have worked for, and prior high school and colleges you may have attended.

6. Your last task is to upload the .gif and text of your page to your directory in home, using WS-FTP, or another ftp package. Be careful to upload one as binary and the other as text!!!!

7. Finally, e-mail me the URL (the address) of your home page. It will look like http://home.ubalt.edu/ubxxx/yourpage.html . Use 401A2 as subject of your e-mail.
