Family Law -- 3 credits (Law 716)

This course will provide students with an overview of family law, including an examination of the legal definition of family, legal responsibilities of family members, and issues arising from family break up and reorganization such as divorce, marital property, alimony, child custody and support. The course will draw on cases, statutes, and policy from a variety of jurisdictions with special emphasis on Maryland law.
