Descriptive Sampling Statistics

This site is a part of the JavaScript E-labs learning objects for decision making. Other JavaScript in this series are categorized under different areas of applications in the MENU section on this page.

Enter your up-to-80 sample data. Use either an integer, or decimal but not fractions, such as 2/3. Then click the Calculate button. Blank boxes are not included in the calculations but zeros are.

In entering your data to move from cell to cell in the data-matrix use the Tab key not arrow or enter keys.

To edit your data, including add/change/delete, you do not have to click on the "clear" button, and re-enter your data all over again. You may simply add a number to any blank cell, change a number to another in the same cell, or delete a number from a cell. After editing, then click the "calculate" button.

For extensive edit or to use the JavaScriptfor a new set of data, then use the "clear" button.

For a JavaScript that computes and graph histogram of a given set of data as a tool in checking the unimodality of the population, you may use Test for Homogeneity of a Population. Notice that, in most cases the last frequency has an open-end class of its own

Mean (Average) [Media (Average)]= Media muestral
Min = Valor Mínimo de la muestra
Variance = Varianza
Range (Rango) = Rango muestral Standard Deviation = Desviación Estándar
1st Quartile = Primer Cuartíl
Coef. of Variation (Coef. de Variación)= Coeficiente de Variación
Coef. of Quar. Var. (Coef. de Var. Cuartíl) = Coeficiente de Variación Cuartíl
Skewness = Oblicuidad
3rd Quartile = Tercer Cuartíl
Kurtosis
InterQuartile (Intercuartíl)= Valores muestrales entre cuartiles
Mean St. Error (Error Est. Media) = Error estándar de la media
Quartile Deviation = Desviación Cuartíl
Median = Mediana
Mean Abs. Devi. (Media Abs. de Desv.) = Media absoluta de desviación
Histogramming = Histograma
Class Width = Anchura de la clase
No. of classes = Número de clases
